America's New Energy Future: Ambitious and Achievable
What happens when diverse stakeholders come together to create a new vision for America’s energy future? You get 25x’25, a campaign and renewable energy goal for America to get 25 percent of its energy from renewable resources, such as wind, solar and biofuels, by 2025.
It may seem like a big goal, but it has been embraced by members of the U.S. Congress and gained support from governors, state legislators and more than 700 partner organizations!
When we brought together volunteer farm leaders, businesses and environmental groups to create 25x’25, we never expected this level of success. We owe much of our support to a smart idea: increasing America’s renewable energy use. Achieving the 25x’25 goal will:
- increase jobs in rural America;
- save consumers money;
- reduce our dependence on oil; and
- clean up the air by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
New alliances are popping up all over the United States. Explore our state map to see what your community is doing to achieve 25x’25.
