Walter Cortés

Walter Cortés serves as Chief Financial Officer of the United Nations Foundation and Better World Fund. In this role, Mr. Cortés manages the accounting operations and staff of the Foundation.

Mr. Cortés is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Washington, D.C. and has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of accounting, finance, auditing and loan management. Prior to joining the UN Foundation, he worked for the Pan-American Development Foundation in Washington, D.C., as a controller, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Rome, Italy, as a loan administration officer, and the World Bank, also in Washington, D.C., as an accounting team leader.
