Angela hails from Zambia and by way of Zimbabwe and Germany made her home in the United States. She is very engaged in public health and about taking an entrepreneurial approach to solving some of the world's largest problems through her roles as Co-Vice Chairman of the Global Health Alliance focused on family planning/ reproductive health, member of the Board of Trustees of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and Grassroot Soccer. Angela also serves on the Advisory Board of Beespace, a non-profit incubator that includes the Malala Fund as one of the first incubees. She was a founding member of the United Nations Foundation Global Entrepreneurs Council of which she is now an emeritus member. Angela also serves on the Advisory Boards of Johnson, Cornell University Business School and Entrepreneurship@Cornell and is a member of the Economic Club of New York and of US-SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment.
Angela serves as a Private Wealth Advisor at UBS Private Wealth Management based in New York focused on implementing values-based (or socially responsible/impact) investments where relevant, family governance, NextGen education, philanthropy, and much more. Angela is a frequent speaker on these topics, particularly on impact or values-based investing and philanthropy and has guest lectured on the topic at various venues, including at Cornell University.
She received her M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and an M.B.A. from Johnson, Cornell University. She is fluent in German and lives with her husband Todd and son Henry in Brooklyn. She is an avid runner with five marathons behind her and enjoys adventure travel, including climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
