UN World Tourism Organization

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO/OMT) is a specialized agency of the United Nations and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. It serves as a global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how. UNWTO plays a central and decisive role in promoting the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, paying particular attention to the interests of developing countries. The Organization encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, with a view to ensuring that member countries, tourist destinations and businesses maximize the positive economic, social and cultural effects of tourism and fully reap its benefits, while minimizing its negative social and environmental impacts.

UNAIDS

UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, is an innovative joint venture of the United Nations family, bringing together the efforts and resources of ten UN system organizations in the AIDS response to help the world prevent new HIV infections, care for people living with HIV, and mitigate the impact of the epidemic. With its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the UNAIDS Secretariat works on the ground in more than 80 countries worldwide. Coherent action on AIDS by the UN system is coordinated in countries through the UN theme groups, and the joint programmes on AIDS. Cosponsors include UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP,UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, ILO, UNESCO, WHO and the World Bank. UNAIDS helps mount and support an expanded response to AIDS ? one that engages the efforts of many sectors and partners from government and civil society.

Union for Ethical BioTrade

Launched in October 2007, the Union is the flagship association for the Ethical BioTrade movement. Members are from a wide range of industries, including cosmetics and personal care products, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, complementary medicine, and fashion and accessories. Our mission is to bring together actors committed to Ethical BioTrade and to promote, facilitate and recognize ethical trade practices in goods that meet the sustainable development goals in the Convention of Biological Diversity.

Union for Reform Judaism (URJ)

The Union for Reform Judaism provides vision and leadership to Reform Jews and congregations on spiritual, ethical, social justice and management issues. It provides programmatic support to Reform Jewish congregations and offers opportunities for individual growth and identity that few congregations could provide by themselves, such as camps and Israel programs for youth, study kallot and North American and regional biennials. The Union for Reform Judaism partners with the Nothing But Nets campaign to combat the spread of malaria. Together, we hope to supply 50,000 insecticide-treated bed nets to families in sub-Saharan Africa, saving one family at a time, one net at a time.

United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church has more than 11.5 million members internationally and is in mission in more than 125 countries. It is the second largest Protestant denomination in the U.S., with about 35,000 churches. The denomination has long been a key player in the fight against malaria, having operated hospitals, clinics, schools and mission centers across Africa for more than 160 years. Global health issues are a major focus for The United Methodist Church, which is engaged in a new global health initiative aimed at combating diseases of poverty such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis.

United Methodist Committee on Relief

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) supports community-based anti-malaria programs through United Methodist health institutions and clinics in Africa. These programs include training health educators about the prevention and treatment of malaria, providing nets, medicines, testing and other services to both treat and prevent malaria infection.

United Nations Association of the USA

The United Nations Association of the United States of America is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and vital work of the United Nations among the American people. Its educational and humanitarian campaigns, including teaching students in urban schools, clearing minefields and providing school-based support for children living in HIV/AIDS-affected communities in Africa, allow people to make a global impact at the local level. In addition, its policy and advocacy programs stress the importance of nations working together and the need for United States leadership in the United Nations. The association is affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations.
