Today, more than 170 world leaders will gather
at the United Nations for the beginning of the 2005
World Summit—the largest gathering of world
leaders in history.
The Summit is more than just a meeting: it is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for these global leaders to come together
around our most important global issues—from development
to disarmament, terrorism to trade. It is also an opportunity
to look at the UN anew, and to make sure that the world
body is able to meet the challenges of our changed world.
The issues at stake affect us all. To help you learn
more about the Summit and its outcomes, we’ve
created a website with fact sheets, news coverage,
and other helpful information. We’ll be updating
