The United Nations Foundation does not accept
unsolicited proposals. The United Nations Foundation
works collaboratively with the UN in program development.
UN Foundation grants to UN agencies are intended
to support a variety of UN causes -- consistent
with the Secretary-General's priorities, UN Foundation
criteria and UN Foundation programmatic priorities.
UN Foundation supports UN Agencies, Funds and
Programmes exclusively, but strongly encourages
the UN system to integrate civil society and the
private sector into project proposals.
Together with the United
Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP),
the UN Foundation pursues funding opportunities
which support the UN's Agenda for Development
and the goals set at recent United Nations global
conferences. Projects consistent with national
development goals and priorities as well as efforts
aimed at improving collaboration among UN Agencies,
Funds and Programmes are encouraged. UN Foundation
is also working collaboratively with selected
UN agencies to improve institutional capacity
and effectiveness in a manner consonant with the
Secretary-General's reform program.
Funding Reports UN Foundation grants are approved by the
Board of Directors after careful consideration
of project proposals. Announcements of project
funding are made public through press releases
accompanied by project specific recipient lists
and graphs.
The UN Foundation works
with the UN and the UNFIP during identification,
evaluation and approval of projects for funding.
