United Nations Foundation Thanks International Advertising Association's New York Chapter
Washington, DC — July 15, 2011
The United Nations Foundation’s Vice President of Communications and Public Relations, Aaron Sherinian, made the following statement today thanking the New York Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) for its support of the UN Foundation:
“IAA New York has put global social good at the top of its agenda by selecting the UN Foundation as beneficiary of its Summer Gala, one of the most important networking opportunities for the advertising community in the New York area. The funds raised by IAA New York will help the UN Foundation address the world’s most pressing problems by supporting campaigns designed to reduce child mortality, empower women and girls, create a new energy future, secure peace and human rights, and promote technology innovation to improve health outcomes.
“The UN Foundation is proud to work with the IAA and its constituents from the international marketing, advertising and media community of New York. With their generous support, the UN Foundation is helping the United Nations foster a more peaceful, prosperous and just world.”
About the United Nations Foundation
The United Nations Foundation, a public charity, was created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner’s historic $1 billion gift to support UN causes and activities. We build and implement public-private partnerships to address the world’s most pressing problems, and work to broaden support for the UN through advocacy and public outreach. Through our campaigns and partnerships, we connect people, ideas and resources to help the UN solve global problems. These campaigns focus on reducing child mortality, empowering women and girls, creating a new energy future, securing peace and human rights, and promoting technology innovation to improve health outcomes. These solutions are helping the UN advance the eight global targets known as the Millennium Development Goals. For more information, visit www.unfoundation.org.
