An Online Invitation to Create a Peaceful, Healthy Tomorrow: UN Foundation Launches New UNFoundation.org

The United Nations Foundation today relaunched www.unfoundation.org as an enhanced online hub, providing instant access to UN Foundation initiatives and connecting people with the UN to help solve the world’s biggest challenges. Visitors to the site will have easy access to information about the campaigns powered by the UN Foundation; can get engaged by learning, advocating, and donating on behalf of global issues; and can share their experience with their online networks through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, and the full range of social media.

The new site empowers users to support the work of the UN and to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges by engaging with UN Foundation campaigns and programs, such as  Nothing but Nets, Girl Up, the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the Better World Campaign, and the United Nations Association of the USA, as well as reading the foreign policy blog UN Dispatch.

“Millions of stories unfold every day about how the UN changes lives and helps create a better, more secure, and healthier world,” said UN Foundation CEO, Kathy Calvin. “The new www.unfoundation.org is an online tool for progress and peace that puts the power of the internet and social media to work for all global citizens.”

By connecting with UN Foundation campaigns, visitors to www.unfoundation.orgcan take actions such as sending a malaria-preventing bed net to Africa, learning about issues affecting girls in developing countries, voicing their support for life-saving vaccines for children around the world, and thanking UN peacekeepers. The new site includes a number of new and improved features, such as better access to high-impact stories, videos and photos, podcasts, subscriptions, and RSS feeds. Campaigns and initiatives highlighted on the new site are part of the UN Foundation’s innovative efforts to help people around the world broaden their global perspectives and support the UN.
