Statement by Reid Detchon, Executive Director, Energy and Climate On the Environmental Protection Agency's announcement of a proposed finding that greenhouse gasses pose a threat to public health; decision to move toward regulation
Washington DC — April 17, 2009
“Legislation is preferable to regulation, but the climate challenge is so urgent, EPA's decision to act is warranted. Congress can make this decision moot by passing effective legislation to reduce our emissions, and they should do just that in the next few months.”
Reid Detchon is Executive Director of the Climate and Energy program at the UN Foundation, in addition to his capacity as Executive Director of the Energy Future Coalition.
