Telecoms Sans Frontieres deploys to Peru in response to earthquake

In August 2007, a massive quake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale shook Peru’s capital city, Lima, and the surrounding coastline, killing hundreds, injuring thousands, and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless.  TSF deployed from its regional base in Nicaragua to create two communication centers for rescue teams, and launch a humanitarian calling operation providing survivors with 3-minute phone calls to loved ones.  Julie Cazenave describing the missions.
