Torrential rains have triggered devastating floods in Pakistan affecting up to 20 million people. At the request of the Pakistan government, the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster, a response team of UN agencies, NGOs and stand-by partners, has mobilized to provide communications services that connect relief workers and enable the delivery of life-saving food, medicine and supplies.

The CEO of the United Nations Foundation Kathy Calvin talks to Al Jazeera-English producer Kavitha Chekuru about the situation in Haiti six months after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 200,000 people. In February, Calvin traveled to Haiti to learn first-hand about the country's needs.
