Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves Telephone Press Briefing
On February 15, 2011 the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves held a telephone press briefing to discuss:
• the serious health and environmental impacts of cookstove smoke, which claims more than 1.9 million lives annually;
• the work of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and
• the upcoming 5th Biennial Partnership for Clean Indoor Air Forum to be held in Lima, Peru February 21-25.
Panelists included: Leslie Cordes, Interim Executive Director, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves; Richard Grinnell, Executive Vice-President & COO, HELPS International Incorporated; Jacob Moss, Director, U.S. Cookstoves Initiatives, Office of the Secretary of State, Global Partnerships Initiative; and Kirk Smith, Professor of Global Environmental Health, University of California.
