The semi-annual meeting, presided over by UN Foundation Founder and Chairman Ted Turner, took place June 19-25 in Oslo and the northernmost regions of the country.

  • Global Accelerator: Bringing Together Entrepreneurs and the United Nations

    On June 10, 2014 the UN Foundation and the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) co-hosted the Global Accelerator at UN Headquarters in NY. The Global Accelerator was a first-of-its-kind forum for entrepreneurs and UN officials to connect and explore innovative solutions to the global challenges of job creation and youth employment, water and sanitation and gender equality. In partnership with the UN, the Global Accelerator brought approximately 100 nominated entrepreneurs from around the world to take part in this day-long program focused on supporting the UN on these issues. Innovation workshops with the entrepreneurs were facilitated by 15 UN entities.

On this national teleconference, on-the-ground experts and community leaders from around the U.S. discuss the current situation in South Sudan, what they are doing to save lives, and how anyone can help.

    On UN Day 2011, UN Foundation VP of Public Relations Aaron Sherinian and Yashar Vasef, Executive Director, Iowa United Nations Association, talk about how Iowans have always been connected to the UN Association which dates back to the historically influential icon, Eleanor Roosevelt. The UN Association is a fantastic way for individuals to get involved and allow their voices to be heard on issues that hold importance to them.
