  • A Strong U.S.-UN Relationship Issue Brief

    Issue Area: UN-US Relations

Through the Better World Campaign and the United Nations Association of the United States of America, we advocate in support of a strong, effective, and fully funded United Nations. As the single largest network of American supporters of the UN, we educate the public about the UN’s work, mobilize media to communicate UN efforts, and help ensure the U.S. government pays its dues to the UN on time and in full.

Join our community and help the UN solve global problems.

  • Energy Access Fact Sheet

    Issue Area: Energy & Climate

Access to clean and affordable modern energy is critical to fostering lasting social and economic development and to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Worldwide, some 2.7 billion people rely on traditional biomass for cooking and h eating, and 1.4 billion have no access to electricity, with one billion more having only access to unreliable electricity networks.

  • Energy and Climate Issue Brief

    Issue Area: Energy & Climate

Energy is essential to the human experience. Energy powers transportation, provides heat, brings light and drives the machinery that fuels the global economy. The dilemma is that energy services are unevenly distributed around the world and burning fossil fuels impacts the climate all human beings share.

  • Girl Up Fact Sheet

    Issue Area: Women & Population

Girl Up is an innovative campaign, of the United Nations Foundation, to address the needs of adolescent girls in developing countries. This for girls, by girls campaign mobilizes girls in the U.S. to raise awareness and funds for programs of the United Nations that help some of the world's hardest-to-reach adolescent girls.

  • Global Health Issue Brief

    Issue Area: Global Health

Since our founding, the UN Foundation has made improving women’s and children’s health one of our top priorities. We connect people, ideas, and resources to help the UN address key global health priorities. Together, we deliver life-saving vaccines and anti-malaria nets to children, provide clean cookstoves to families, harness the latest mobile technologies to improve public health, and empower women with the tools to plan their families and have safe pregnancies. A major focus for the UN Foundation and our partners is to mobilize the private sector into innovative, meaningful action in support of the UN Secretary-General’s Every Woman, Every Child initiative.

  • Helping the UN Help Haiti

The UN Foundation continues to focus on helping the UN help Haiti in the aftermath of the January 12 earthquake. We appreciate the generosity of the thousands of people who have joined us in helping Haitians rebuild.

  • Nothing But Nets Fact Sheet

    Issue Area: Global Health

Every 45 seconds a child dies from malaria, a disease spread by a single mosquito bite.

  • UN Foundation Issue Brief

The United Nations Foundation, a public charity, was created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner's historic $1 billion gift to support UN causes and activities. We are an advocate for the UN and connect people, ideas, and resources to power solutions to global challenges.

  • United Nations Foundation Partnerships

In today's interconnected world, no one can go it alone. The UN Foundation builds campaigns and partnerships to connect people, ideas, and resources to reduce child mortality, empower women and girls, create a new energy future, secure peace and human rights, and promote technology innovation to improve health outcomes.

  • Women and Population Issue Brief

    Issue Area: Women & Population

Empowering women and girls—providing them with educational and economic opportunities and securing their health and human rights—is essential in the global drive to eliminate poverty, achieve social justice and stabilize the world’s population. It’s simple—unless the needs and rights of women and girls are addressed, it will be impossible to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
