Paula Cox, Premier, Bermuda, 2010-2012

Paula Cox became the third female Premier of Bermuda upon her election in 2010. While serving as Premier she also held the position of Minister of Finance, a post that she had held since 2004. Cox was also the leader of the Bermuda Progressive Labor Party (PLP) from October 2010 until June 2017. Cox was first elected to Parliament in 1996 as one of the youngest members of the House of Assembly. She has since been appointed as Minister of Education and Development, Minister of Finance, Attorney General and the first PLP Minister of Labor, Home Affairs and Public Safety. Outside of politics Cox has made her career in both the legal and banking fields. She currently serves on the board of the International Women’s Forum.
