The Time Has Come for LGBT Rights

May 9, 2012 BY Maureen McNally

With the headlines announcing Obama’s support for same-sex marriage, it has reminded us that, as UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon declared, “the time has come” to make lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights a top priority with the United Nations. This marks a historical moment for America and the future of LGBT rights in our country and around the world as the President’s declaration today reminds us that the U.S. and the UN are working side by side to tackle tough issues.

Join us in watching UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon discuss his beliefs to move things farther along in the Human Rights Council and click here to sign our Petition on LGBT Rights. The time has come. The time is now.

Submitted by B.L.Fowler on: May 14, 2012 Dear Friend, Interestingly, the continued debates surrounding marriage equality have sparked mixed emotions within the African American church; while also evokes anger amongst the uneducated and/or religious zealots, who believe homosexuality is a sin. This is why B.L.Fowler penned his new book titled Why Homosexuals Deserve Equality Rights, which you can find out more about at the following link: In the meantime, Rev. Moss shared these few words in a letter he recently wrote, please be so kind a view this video clip from YouTube: Afterwards, be sure to order a copy of my new book titled Why Homosexuals Deserve Equality Rights And let's stand up for what's right: Equality for all! Thank you, B.L.Fowler

Submitted by reeves budd on: May 12, 2012 NC Amendment one... At this point, I am embarrassed to be a part of state of North Carolina. As a 41 year old gay male, born and raised here in NC, I have grown up with a good deal of closed minded people as well a good number of people who are accepting of others. The law should never encourage prejudice and this is exactly what amendment one does, it also infringes on indivual rights. 20 years ago I faced many trials simply for being gay, it truly saddens me to see it has not changed and that even today people like me [simply for loving a different way] are forced into hiding, yet expected to continue to pay our state taxes without rights or laws to protect us. I share this here in the hopes that people will understand the importance of freedom and add their voice to those in need of support. Weather you agree or disagree with this issue... know that by allowing it to happen, you put your own freedoms that you do enjoy at risk. Freedom is lost one issue at a time, it's freedom for all or freedom for none.
