Elizabeth Gore and Susan Myers

Susan Myers is the UN Foundation’s Vice President for UN relations. Ms. Myers has served as Executive Director of the New York office of the United Nations Foundation since 2000. As a member of the Foundation's leadership team, she provides overall guidance and participates in the development of long-term strategy for the organization.

Previously, she served as Legislative Director of the Better World Campaign, a bi-partisan, non-profit national education and outreach effort dedicated to enhancing the awareness of and appreciation for the vital role the United Nations plays around the world. In this position, she led successful campaigns for the payment of over $1 billion in U.S. arrears to the UN and for the re-entry of the U.S. to UNESCO (the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) after an 18-year absence from the organization.

Susan holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Previous experience includes working in the Governmental Relations and Public Affairs Office of the Legal Services Corporation and Governmental Affairs Office of the American Bar Association. She has also served on the boards of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and Citizens for Global Solutions.

Elizabeth Gore is the first ever Resident Entrepreneur at the United Nations Foundation bringing innovation into the United Nations and chairing the UN Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council. She builds global partnerships and cause marketing strategies implemented in programs and campaigns supporting the humanitarian issues of the United Nations. Ms. Gore previously served as Vice President of Global Partnerships at the UN Foundation, and founded strategic grassroots efforts such as Nothing But Nets Girl Up, and the Shot@Life global vaccines campaign. Additionally, she manages partnerships with Fortune 100 companies and with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Prior to joining the UN Foundation, Ms. Gore served as the director of development and corporate relations for the Points of Light Foundation. Her consulting experience includes the implementation and launch of The Great American Bake Sale, an anti-hunger initiative for Share Our Strength, ABC television and Parade magazine.

Ms. Gore is a former United States Peace Corps volunteer and served in Bolivia, South America. In Bolivia, she wrote, received and managed a USAID grant to better the food availability and economic situation for the Chaco. Ms. Gore is originally from Texas where she was a financial development associate for the A&M Foundation. She holds a bachelor of science in Animal Science and a masters in Financial Development from Texas A&M University.

Ms. Gore was named by People as one of the top 100 Extraordinary Women. Ms. Gore has been featured on multiple media outlets including: ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fast Company, Fortune, Glamour, The New York Times, People, and Time. She is a World Champion Equestrian, and in 2010 joined Summit on the Summit and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for the global clean water crisis on behalf of the United Nations.

Ms. Gore currently serves on the leadership councils of the Women’s Philanthropy Institute in The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University as well as the annual CLASSY Awards, and is on the Advisory Board of SOMA, an innovative all-natural water filter company.
