Welcome to the first September edition of In Case You Missed It.  Between the start of the school year, the return of football and getting through the daily to-do list, it can be a busy time of year.  Here’s a quick rundown of news you may have missed.  Let us know what you’re reading!

  • Nick Kristof Joins the Social Good Summit: The Social Good Summit’s all-star line-up of speakers got bigger this week with the addition of New York Times columnist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Nick Kristof.  Find out who else will be speaking and register here
  • The Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action in the Spotlight: Kirsten Gagnaire, the Global Director of the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA), , talks to eHEALTH, an online and print publication, about MAMA’s work to harness mobile technologies to deliver health information to new and expectant mothers.
  • Fighting Polio at the Paralympics:  Several athletes living with polio are going for the gold at the Paralympics; they’re also raising awareness about the global effort to eradicate polio.  Read more here.
