Dayna Geldwert

Intern, Girl Up, United Nations Foundation

Dayna Geldwert joined the United Nations Foundation as a Global Partnerships and Public Affairs intern with the Girl Up campaign. Prior to joining our team, Dayna was a Corporate Communications intern at Rodale, Inc., a publisher of health and wellness magazines and one of the largest independent book publishers in the United States. During the summer of 2011, Dayna worked at the sports marketing and event management company Korff Enterprises, Inc., functioning as a public relations intern for the New York City Triathlon. Throughout her time at college, Dayna was a strong supporter of her school’s Women’s Center. As a passionate 4-year member of Break the Silence, a student-led group of gender violence peer educators on campus, Dayna facilitated campus-wide discussions on issues such as rape culture, personal empowerment, and partner abuse, while challenging the women and men in her community to stand up against a culture of violence. With 80 hours of training, Dayna staffed a sexual violence help hotline, helping to turn victims into strong survivors.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Lehigh University as a part of the Eckardt Scholars Program and the Technology, Research and Communications Fellowship, Dayna earned her Bachelor’s degree and departmental honors in Journalism with minors in both Business and Mass Communications. Originally from Larchmont, NY, Dayna loves to speak French, travel, eat spicy foods and shop at outdoor markets.

Fun fact: Dayna makes amazing banana bread and is an all-star kickball player.
