Anastasia joined the United Nations Foundation in October 2010 as a Senior Outreach Associate with the Public Affairs and Communications teams. This outreach work includes working to connect with others and plan strategic initiatives and events such as the Social Good Summit and the more recent Rio+Social event that was along-side the United Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20.  Anastasia’s job is pan-foundation as she also provides strategic and communications advice to many UN Foundation programs such as Better World Campaign, Shot@Life and Girl Up.

Anastasia graduated from The George Washington University with a degree in Visual Communications and Marketing.  Upon graduation Anastasia joined Burson Marstellar where she worked with such high profile clients as the United States Treasury, United States Postal Service and Coca Cola. 

Anastasia then went to work for the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations under Vice President Biden before completing her Masters Degree in International Policy at the University of London. 

After graduation she began working for SAB Miller’s International brands division to launch the Italian Beer Peroni in Washington DC.  Anastasia managed a team of 12, created the brand’s local PR and marketing strategy increasing sales of Peroni by 335%.

After a year with Miller Brewing Co., Anastasia was recruited by local gorilla marketing company Red Peg Marketing to launch P.I.N.K. vodka in the North East region from South Jersey to Virginia.

Since 2005 Anastasia owns and helps run her own artisan gelato company Dolci Gelati with her husband Gianluigi and runs all of the marketing, branding, communications, Social Media and business development. Anastasia writes her company’s blog DolciGelatiSnobDC and has two children Valentina and Gianluca.

Rio+Social – A Global Citizen’s Front-Row Seat
After months of hard work and planning, I took my seat Tuesday morning in the Rio+Social audience, plugged in my computer, my phone, and my other phone, opened up all of my social media channels, and waited anxiously for the program to begin. As others took their seats and plugged in, I witnessed first-hand a connection between those in the room and the thousands of tweets that began to stream in with the hashtag #RioPlusSocial.
