Robert Skinner

Robert Skinner is the UN Foundation's Associate Director of the New York Office. In this role, he assists in managing daily operations and activities of New York staff in conjunction with the Washington, DC office.

Robert rejoined the UN Foundation in April 2008 after a brief tenure working in international corporate law.  Previously, Robert was the Director of External Relations in UNF’s New York Office.  Before originally joining UNF in April 2006, Robert spent nearly nine years as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State, serving in U.S. Embassies in Trinidad & Tobago, El Salvador, and Cote d’Ivoire, as well as at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York.  He also practiced law in Chicago, including over three years as a criminal defense attorney with the Office of the Cook County Public Defender. 

Robert received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, spending one semester studying European Union Law at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.  His undergraduate degree is from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

UN Foundation visits rubble removal program in Haiti

The UN Foundation speaks with a UNDP staffer about a United Nations rubble removal program in the Carrefour-Feuille neighborhood of Haiti. The program employs hundreds of thousands of Haitians to open up road access so that emergency crews and sanitation workers can reach areas of destruction before the rainy season starts.
