Adele Waugaman

Adele Waugaman leads the $30M partnership between the United Nations Foundation and Vodafone Foundation that invests in the use of mobile technologies to advance UN health and disaster relief programs. She also directs communications for the mHealth Alliance, an umbrella organization using mobile technology to meet global health goals.

Adele joined the UN Foundation in 2007.  Her prior experience includes work with technology companies during the new media boom, and as a communications and advocacy strategist for groups including Human Rights Watch and the Coalition for the International Criminal Court.  She also has worked as a journalist and editor covering U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.

Adele holds a B.A. in Sociology and Ethnic Studies from Bard College, and an M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
