The United Nations Foundation employs rigorous accounting standards and financial controls to effectively steward the more than $1 billion entrusted to us by our Chairman, partners, and donors.

Our financial stewardship efforts have led to nine consecutive years of clean financial audits.

In 2008, more than 93 cents of every dollar that the UN Foundation raised and spent went directly to support UN programs and causes. A breakdown of our expenses for the fiscal year 2008 is presented below.

IRS 990 forms and financial statements from our auditors are available for both the UN Foundation and our sister organization, the Better World Fund. We provide our IRS Form 990s on our website in order to share our financial information with partners, donors, and the public. Walter Cortés

Director of Finance

Walter Cortés serves as Director of Finance of the United Nations Foundation and Better World Fund. In this role, Mr. Cortes manages the accounting operations and staff of the Foundation.

David Burton

Budget Director

David Burton serves as the Budget Director of the United Nations Foundation and the Better World Fund. In this role, David manages the overall budget of the Foundation as well as overseeing the budgets for our different areas of focus.
