Financial Information
The United Nations Foundation employs rigorous accounting standards and financial controls to effectively steward the more than $1 billion entrusted to us by our Chairman, partners, and donors.
Our financial stewardship efforts have led to nine consecutive years of clean financial audits, and to having been awarded four stars—the highest possible rating—by Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator.
In 2006 and 2007, more than 95 cents of every dollar that the UN Foundation raised and spent went directly to support UN programs and causes. A breakdown of our expenses for the fiscal year 2006 and 2007 are below.
IRS 990 forms and financial statements from our auditors are available for both the UN Foundation and our sister organization, the Better World Fund. We provide our IRS Form 990s on our website in order to share our financial information with partners, donors and the public. Studying the IRS Form 990 will increase your understanding of the charitable organizations you choose to support. Should you have any further questions about these forms, please contact Walter Cortés, Controller at wcortes@unfoundation.org.
